Pumpkin Soap

I hope you will enjoy this little tutorial. I found it fun to do, as I had never made pumpkin puree in my life.
Step 1. - First I cut the pumpkin in half.
Step 2. - Then I cut the 2 halves again, making it 4. Simple eh?
Step 3. - With your spoon, scoop out the yukkies. You can toss it out or pull the seeds out.
Step 5. - Now take your slices and wrap them up in aluminum foil. Once wrapped up, place them on a baking sheet. This is important because at first I thought it would be okay to just place them as is in the stove, but not the case. The slices will leak out some juices while they cook. Put them in the oven at 400F or 200C for 3 minutes, or until tender. Treat it like a baked potato, poke a fork in it and if it is soft, you are done!
Step 6. - This is how it looks after it has been cooked.
Step 7. - Now it's time to peel the outer skin of the pumpkin. I find it so easy to use a big spoon and gently snug it just under the outer skin and push upward. Once all the outer skin is taken off, I then cut up the slices in chunk and put them in a food processor. You can you just a mash potato masher, but if you really want that puree look, then a processor is the way to go.
Step 8. - And you are done
Step 9. - Now you can do what you want with the puree. You can make muffins, bread, or whatever you like. However, with this puree I am going to make some soap. So to make the soap, you need to have a soap recipe. Know your oils, know your fragrance and make sure that the fragrance will not form a quick trace. The FO I am using will not trace quickly. It will also not turn brown, so this one will be easy for me. SAFETY - Follow the safety guidelines when working with LYE, this is paramount. In order to work the pumpkin puree into your recipe you need to omit a water percentage. So lets say that your recipe calls for 18oz of water and you want to use 2.5oz of puree to your recipe. You would need to subtract the 2.5 from 18, which will give you 15.5oz of water. Do not put the puree in with the lye as it cools down. ADD YOUR PUREE AFTER YOU MIX YOUR OILS AND LYE. See image below, you see I added the puree after all my oils and lye have been mixed together. Now pour your mixture into your mold as seen below.
Step 10. - And you are done. Well at least until you unmold it the next day.

One of my B-Day Gifts

I am sure that you have seen many reviews regarding this new addition from Tarte.

At first I was not interested in this palette, but when I was at Sephora I thought,"oh well, it's my B-day", so I bought it. I have used it only once and I am sad to say that I am not too impressed with it. To be honest, I don't know what I was expecting from this palette, but it seemed more of a normal traditional makeup palette. It is no different than others that I have purchased which cost cheaper and offered the same pay off. Speaking of pay off, the only brightness you get is from the silver, which is the one that I have placed a red dot on. This color gives a great payoff, as for the others, they are okay.
The eye liner is superb, it is nice a creamy and doesn't smug. If you are considering it for the love of the show then get yours before it sells out. If you are more into the colors, thinking they are spectacular, then I would miss this one and spend your $ on something worth wide.

Inspiration from a fantastic artist

Kayla's blog is filled with nail polish designs, images and reviews. Well needless to say I was inspired. I love nail polish and love to decorate my nails. My nails are real, they began to grown when I started to take prenatal vitamins. My nails were never strong, they would break at a drop of hat. I started to take the vitamins while I was in nursing school because my instructor told me that taking prenatal vitamins were the best vitamins that a woman could take.
It was about 3 months I started to notice my nails grown strong and hard. At first I didn't link it with the vitamins but when I stopped taking them to see if it was the vitamins, my nails started to break. It was the weirdest thing to watch.

Kayla's designs gave me the inspiration to do this design. Though it is not as perfect as hers, it is still nice. I went out for my B-day with these and I cannot tell you how many compliments I received. Thanks Kayla for the inspiration, continue on!

Just writing to let you know that the Extreme Cream is amazing, and so is the coconut soap and the cranberry orange soap. I bought it from you recently to treat my daughter’s eczema. I showed her your website and asked her to try it and let me know how it does. Well, her doctor had just prescribed us a small bottle of some after shower moisturizer lotion that was $75. I couldn’t afford it, and that price was AFTER my insurance discount! My sister has eczema and told me not to waste my money because it doesn’t work. They also prescribed my daughter this cream for the itching but she couldn’t use it on too many places at one time due to its side effects! Needless to say, this scared her and she said she’d rather itch and burn than to use it. It scared her.

I often watch sayanythingBr00ke’s videos and she had reviewed your soaps, and she also explained how you started your business and why. Having just been to the doctor’s office with my daughter for her eczema, I decided that day to check out your website. Since my daughter started using both of your products, the cream and the soap, her eczema is basically completely gone in some spots and MUCH better in other areas and continuing to diminish. She came to me last night and said she was low on the cream and soap, and could I get more. She’s just 16 so to me this says something. Teenagers are hard to deal with. When we went to her doctor, there was a large area on her stomach she could not stop scratching and it was so red all the time, and 2 other areas on her upper arms as well. I’m proud to report that all those areas are basically completely clear now, you can only faintly see anything there, so its all but gone. She said she can’t remember when she stopped itching it but its been awhile. That made me smile. Then, the spots right behind her knees used to always be inflamed, especially after she would workout, and burn real bad, but since using your cream and soap, it doesn’t burn her anymore and the redness has faded A LOT. If your pores resemble tiny donuts, use this mixture to minimize their appearance. Separate the white from the egg, and mix in a spoonful of honey. Apply the mixture evenly to your face. Once it has dried, use cold water to remove it. Repeat every two weeks to reduce pore size and even out skin tone.

* Honey
* Plastic bathing cap
* Shampoo

Mix two tablespoons of olive oil and one tablespoon of honey into a plastic bag. Place the bag into a cup of hot water. Once the mixture is warm, massage it into your hair and cover your head with a plastic cap. After 15 minutes, shampoo your hair as normal. This hot oil treatment will restore your hair and leave your locks light and shiny.

Egg Whites and Yogurt Mask

Model Shalom Harlow calls this homemade face mask (only 2 ingredients required!) "moisturizing and soothing."

Prep Time: 2 minutes

Total Time: 2 minutes

Ingredients:

• 2 egg whites, separated from the yolk and placed in a bowl
• 2 tablespoons of plain yogurt (I like Greek yogurt)

Preparation:

Separate the egg whites from a couple eggs and place them in a bowl. Add 2 tablespoons of yogurt (do not use flavored yogurt!). Mix them up and apply to face. Leave on face for a few minutes then rinse face in warm water, followed by a warm washcloth.

Ingredients:
1:1 Bragg apple cider vinegar and water

How to prepare:
Mix Bragg apple cider vinegar with the same amount of water and put it in a bottle sprayer and put it in the fridge

How to use:
After cleaning your face, dry your face and spray cold apple cider vinegar on your face and let dry before applying day cream. Use this daily.
